Some Productivity from The Quilt Quine

Another week has gone by and I wonder what I did to faff my way through it! There was one big, colourful customer quilt. I tried to quilt rainbows onto it but the pattern kept crashing the system so I used a substitute pattern called “Dizzy Izzy”.

Nessie tried out her new, fleece rain suit. She was not altogether pleased at putting it on and taking it off but once it was on she did not mind at all and it kept her clean on a muddy walk.

Freya and I both made new sourdough starters for bread making.  I ...

Sewing Machine Gifting from Becca's Crazy Projects

A coworker asked for a recommendation on a sewing machine. I said I could give him a sewing machine. All I had to do was dig around and find one.

I dug around in the attic and pulled out this winner. Winner because it works, and has most of the parts. I did some sample sewing to make sure all the stitches worked.
I couldn't find the spool pin cap (this one is from my Juki). But it isn't strictly speaking a requirement. He should be able to get one aftermarket, or 3D printed. In a pinch you ...

What I love about my Baby Lock sewing machines from The Crafty Quilter

It’s time to talk sewing machines! One of the primary tools in any sewing room is a sewing machine, and I get asked often about which one I use and recommend. Last year I switched manufacturers/brands, and today I’ll share what I love about my Baby Lock sewing machines.

I recently purchased two new sewing machines. Check out what I love about my Baby Lock sewing machines (and a few things I don't love).

Before going any further, I want you know this is NOT a sponsored blog post. I have not been asked to review any sewing machines by anyone. I just want you to know what machine(s) I’m working with and why.

When we renovated our house last ...

The scraps are going, the scraps are going................... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was a crazy day. I'm not sure what gets into me sometimes, but I get on a roll and well - watch out!!!!! Let's just say the light at the end of the tunnel is going to be blinding soon.

I had two one-hour webinars that I wanted to listen to. I didn't have to participate in any way, although I did ask questions in one. But that's two hours of valuable time so how can I get something done at the same time. I did a wee bit of sewing and I'm happy to ...

Paper or Plastic? Neither! from Becca's Crazy Projects

Pulled out the serger this past weekend to make some quick totes. It took me almost as long to set it up for 4-thread overlock as it did to make my totes. I'm not saying it is difficult to change the set-up because it isn't. It just takes a few minutes to find the cheat-sheet and tools to get it set up correctly. Threading is a breeze!
My aunt sent me these fabrics a couple years ago and they've been sitting on a shelf for entirely too long. I went over to the Green Bag Lady's ...

Multitasking is not a good thing from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I really do need to create a list of lost items. Not that that is going to help me find the missing items, but at least I'll know what I can't find and I can celebrate when I find the darn things. Like those bodkins and the doll patterns and a person's phone number and, and. I might have a stab at creating that list later today.

I actually got excited yesterday. Why? Because I had a couple of errands in the afternoon and another Zoom call. I had THINGS to do! I had three things to ...

Finished Objects from Becca's Crazy Projects

In the crafting world there are many UFOs. Un-Finished Objects. This photo from a couple weeks ago shows some of mine. I finished the mesh tote and shared it on the blog last week. I'm going to keep wandering around my creative space, finding some of those UFOs and trying to finish a few.
These hats are from a machine embroidery design I picked up from Urban Threads Embroidery. I had the applique pieces and even some silly horns and ears cut out for I don't know how long. I decided it was time for those to be ...

The highs and the lows from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Do you remember in some magazines way back when they would have set up two rooms? They were basically decorated the same, but one was filled with items that were high priced and the other was normal priced stuff? Could you always guess which was which? There were many times when I preferred the low-end room over the high-end room.

Well, yesterday was a bit like that. I was back at the training and I learned enough tips to make it worth my time to be there. It's one thing to be self-taught. Quite another to have an expert ...

Sewing space and machines from Seacoast Quilter

Hope everyone who got snow is dug out and has power. It’s been a long time since we had this much snow this early in Connecticut. And it was blowing and drifting! My nephew came with a snowblower and cleaned it up for today. Winter in New England is off to a good start!

Following along with the blog posting schedule from Cheryl at Muppin.com, yesterday was supposed to be showing your sewing space. Today is to show your machine(s). I am combining the two topics into one post so that I am back on schedule.

My ...
